NEWBERG, Ore. -- The George Fox men's basketball team dominated against the Letourneau University YellowJackets on Tuesday night, picking up the win in the first ever game between the two teams, 95-62.
How It Happened
The Bruins controlled the game from the opening whistle, setting the tone early with back-to-back three pointers from
Austin Clark. Fox excelled at both ends of the court, recording seven steals and dropping 24 points off of turnovers, 23Â of which came in transition.Â
Fox's relentless pressure saw them go on a 14 point run through the middle of the period — with Clark,
James Moore,
Momo Stokes and
Aiden Price all converting shots to send the Bruins into halftime with the lead, 38-19.
Fox carried this momentum into the second half, racing out to a 37 point lead midway through the period after a five point run by Stokes. Twelve different players entered the scoring column, with four recording double digit performances. The Bruins shot at 57% from the field on thirty-five attempts and were also solid after drawing fouls, with
Joshua Jones nailinh six consecutive free throw points late in the half thanks to several YellowJacket techinicals. .Â
The string of free throws was followed by a run of layups from Price,
Jamar Mitchell and Trey McDonald II – the Bruins ultimately putting the game away, 95-62.Â
Top Performers
Aiden Price led the way for the Bruins, showing out with 17 points and shooting at 80% from the field.
Austin Clark also impressed with 14 points while
Momo Stokes finished with 12 points in just seven minutes of play. Defensively,
Nick Greenwood led the team with two steals, while
James Moore finished with one highlight block.

Maco Hamilton said, "Letourneau faced some adversity and we were able to take advantage.
