NEWBERG, Ore. -- The George Fox Men's basketball team dominated from start to finish on Wednesday night, storming past Portland Bible on their way to a commanding victory, 114-51.
How It Happened
The Bruins exploded offensively from the opening whistle, going on a 12 point run to immediately take control of the game.
Austin Clark,
Nick Greenwood and
James Moore all found the net early, and Fox went 18-37 from the field in the half. Though the Arrows were able to put some points on the board in response, the Bruins were quick to crush any of their momentum, sealing the first half with a powerful alley-oop dunk by
Samuel Stewart IV on a pass from
Charlie Powers that propelled them into halftime with a convincing lead, 49-26.
Fox maintained this intensity into the second half and wasted no time adding three more scores in the opening minute, pushing their lead to 28 points. Senior
Kade Sorenson then showcased his long range skills with back-to-back three-pointers, while
Joshua Jones had a standout performance, notching 17 points in just 11 minutes — marking a career-high for him at Fox.
Jett Briceno and
Noah Marte further fueled the offensive onslaught, going on a 7-point run in the 12th minute of the half alone.
By the end of the game the Bruins had four players in double digits, running away to a 63 point win, 114-51.
Top Performances
Joshua Jones led the way for the Bruins on offense, dropping 17 points and going 4-4 from beyond the arc.
Kade Sorenson and
Jett Briceno both put up an impressive 14 points, while
Aiden Price,
Samuel Stewart IV and
Nick Greenwood also had double-digit games. On defense,
Nick Greenwood was a standout, recording 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Austin Clark,
Jamar Mitchell and Vandon Heard all finished with one block on the day.

"It was nice to see our guys come into this game with a great approach," Bruin assistant coach
Brendan Jones said of the game, "and they capitalized on another opportunity to move forward collectively."
