LACEY, Wash. -- The George Fox baseball team ended their non-conference series with Saint Martin's, dominating on Sunday morning with a 14-1 win.
How It Happened
The first four innings of the Sunday matinee were a pitcher's duel, with the only run being scored in the third by the Saints on an RBI double. However, in the top of the fifth, the Bruins exploded for six runs.
Jared Miller started the rally with an RBI double down the line — and two more scored on a fielding error after.
Jonathan Stone singled to score another run later in that inning, and then another fielding error scored two more runs. At the end of the fifth, the Bruins led 6-1.
Stone picked up another RBI with a single in the seventh, then in the eighth, the Bruins exploded again. The eighth inning featured the second grand slam of the season.
Matthew Sebolsky stepped up with the bases loaded and smacked a ball out to left field, taking the then 8-1 game to 12-1. Fox added two more runs in the ninth to push the lead to 14-1, ending the series with a 2-1 series win for GFU.
