SALEM, Ore. -- The George Fox men's tennis team successfully defended their Northwest Conference regular season title with a 9-0 win against the Willamette Bearcats on Sunday, setting the stage to host the conference tournament
How It Happened
The top-rated doubles team of
Camden Camacho and
Vahag Pashayan won their matchup, 8-2. The Bruin duo of
Austin Stone and
Eli Mizerski grabbed a win against their opponent, 8-3.
Alle Banna and
Jackson Whittaker won their match to round out doubles play, 8-1, completing the doubles sweep for Fox.Â
It would look the same for singles play, as the Bruins would sweep all of the next six matches. Multiple Bruins dominated their matchups, not allowing a single game to the Bearcats. Both
Austin Stone and
Alle Banna would win their matches, 6-0. Freshman
Eli Mizerski also easily won his match, 6-1, 6-0, withÂ
Jonah Isa winnning his match by a similar scoreline, 6-0, 6-1.Â
To round out the day,
Vahag Pashayan and
Jackson Whittaker would win their matches, 6-1, 6-2, and 6-2, 6-0. The sweep of the Bearcats would allow the Bruins to clinch their third consecutive NWC title with a perfect record of 7-0.Â
