NEWBERG, Ore. -- After a back-and-forth game that saw the George Fox women's soccer team fall two goals behind in the first half, the Bruins valiantly fought back to draw a tie with the Linfield Wildcats on Sunday, 2-2.
How It Happened
The Bruins hoped to bounce back against the Wildcats on Sunday after suffering a loss to Pacific the day before. However, Linfield came out swinging, scoring a goal within the first 10 minutes of the game, and again with five minutes to go in the half to jump out to a 2-0 lead.
Despite the scoreline, the Wildcats only registered one other shot during the duration of the half. Fox outshot the Wildcats 13-3 in the first — however, with Linfield's two goals, the Bruins entered the second half at a 0-2 disadvantage.
The Bruins responded to the Wildcats in the second half, taking advantage of a Linfield turnover only seven minutes into the half.

Becca Kozak for the goal.
From there, the defense continued to lock down the Wildcats, allowing the Bruins to tie the game ten minutes later on a goal by
Hannah Beardemphl, assisted by
Taylor Ho.
Hannah Hernandez nearly gave the Bruins victory with a shot in the late stages of the game, but a save left the game tied, 2-2.

Hannah Hernandez and
Taylor Ho provided the aggression for the Bruins' offense, getting off four shots each to keep the pressure on the Wildcats' defense. All four of Hernandez's shots were on goal, while Beardemphl also contributed three shots on goal.
Becca Kozak and Beardemphl led the scoring for the Bruins, collecting a goal each, while
Taylor Ho and Beardemphl also collected assists.

The Bruins move to 2-2-2 (0-1-1 NWC) on the season and have the opportunity to improve that next Saturday against PLU. Linfield now sits at 2-0-2 (1-0-1 NWC).
