NEWBERG, Ore. – Facing off against one of the toughest teams in the conference, the George Fox Men's soccer team couldn't keep possession and lost solidly against Pacific Lutheran, 9-0.
How It Happened
The Bruins gave up five goals in the first half, the first coming from almost the same spot just minutes apart during the 15th and 18th minutes right in front of goal. The Lutes tacked on three more goals in the half, all but one from inside the box. The Bruins would not get a shot off until the 40th minute of the half when
Joshua Chang put a shot on goal that the Lutes keeper saved.
The second half looked similar, with the Lutes scoring four goals in six shots. All four scores for the Lutes came within the first 25 minutes of the half. The Bruins had some opportunities in the second half, including a shot on goal in the 83rd minute from
Matthew Woodard. Overall, the Bruins found themselves outshot 15-3, as PLU dominated most of the stat sheet, leading to the 9-0 defeat.
