NEWBERG, Ore. — After a 0-2 loss on Friday, the Bruins hit the field against Augsburg looking to even their record and build some momentum.
How It Happened
The game started quickly for Augsburg — with just 15 minutes elapsed in the first half, Augsburg's Jeffrey Richter's header found the back of the net after an assist from Mizael Harris. As the half began winding to a close, it looked as if Fox was going to enter the half behind a goal.
With a minute to play in the half,
Kaimi Victor evened the score with the first Bruins goal of the game with an assist from
Isaac Nakayama. The two played the counterattack to perfection, with Nakayama finding Victor through the back line.
Augsburg took a 2-1 lead early in the second half off of a penalty kick from Jennah Kebba, and added another point to their tally with a goal 15 minutes later from Mitchel Munzing. Strong defense on both sides for the rest of the half kept the score as it was, though both teams had chances to up their tally with shots around the goal.
