PORTLAND, Ore. -- The George Fox Women's Volleyball team kept things rolling on Saturday with a resounding victory in 3-1 fashion over Lewis and Clark.
How It Happened
The Bruins and Pioneers went blow for blow for most of the first half, keeping the game relatively even for most of the set. Then, at the 16 point mark, the Bruins shot ahead, scoring seven unanswered to grab the momentum and a commanding lead, eventually leading to a 25-15 victory in the first set.
Carrying their momentum over from their win in the first set, the Bruins got off to a hot start in the second set. This time, they began the set with seven unanswered, building a lead that would eventually grant them victory in the second set as well, this time by a score of 25-14.
The Bruins came out looking to sweep their opponents for the second straight day, but it was not to be. After once again trading blows for the entirety of the set, the Bruins were neck and neck with the Pioneers coming down the stretch. However, the Pioneers grabbed their first victory after three unanswered points granted them a 25-19 victory.
The final set was a display of pure dominance by the Bruins. After being tied up to the six point mark, the Bruins finished the set by outscoring their opponents 19-6 the rest of the way, with a kill by
Emily Blagg being the final blow to seal the Pios fate and give Fox a 3-1 victory.
