TACOMA, Wash. --.Despite a strong offensive effort, the George Fox Men's Basketball team was unable to keep pace with a Puget Sound Loggers team that was on fire, dropping the game, 99-79.
How It Happened
George Fox was explosive early in the game, going on a six point run in the first two minutes to open the scoring. Eight minutes into the game, six different Bruin players had scored. The Loggers proved to be up for the challenge, though, and after trading points with Fox for the first half of the period they dropped nine points in one minute to pull ahead, 25-17. Both
James Moore and
Aiden Price made 4-6 shots from the floor during the half, but Fox went into the break behind, 44-34.
Puget Sound continued their hot shooting in the second half, bursting out of the gate with a seven point run that saw Fox's deficit grow to 17. The Bruins refused to give up, attempting to mount a comeback with a six point run from
James Moore,
Austin Clark and
Charlie Powers. However, the Loggers only built more momentum as the second half progressed and simply proved too good on the day, shooting at over 50% from both the floor and beyond the arc to take the win, 99-79.
