TACOMA, Wash. -- The George Fox women's soccer team had just two shots on goal with neither finding the back of the net, as the Puget Sound Loggers defeated GFU, 5-0.
How It Happened
The Bruins found themselves on the defensive early, as the Loggers' offense got three shots off before the ten-minute mark in the first half – scoring on the last shot to give UPS an early 1-0 lead. After the ninth-minute goal, however, both sides went scoreless for the rest of the half. The Bruins'
Willa Evans and
Liv Haima added the only shots of the half for the Bruins in the 34th and 36th minutes respectively – the latter being a shot on goal. The half ended with GFU down just a goal, 1-0.
The Loggers bookended the second half with a pair of goals, scoring in the 48th and 52nd minute to start the final half,and again in the 72nd and 88th minutes to balloon the deficit to 5-0. Fox again tallied two shots in the half, with Haima getting a shot off in the 56th minute, and Evans a shot on goal in the 60th. The Bruins finished the day with four total shots, two on goal, while facing 16 shots from the Loggers.

Willa Evans and
Liv Haima both recorded a shot on goal for the Bruins, and each played a full 90 minutes.
Coach's Thoughts
"Credit to UPS - they've had a lock in second in conference for years and showed why today," said Bruins head coach
Laura Schott. "We are battling despite injuries, and that's been hard - but that's just sports."

The Bruins drop to 5-9-3 (2-8-3 NWC), on the year, and the Loggers improve to 7-4-6 (7-1-4 NWC).
