SALEM, Ore. -- The George Fox swim team completed its second meet of the season, the women faced an unfortunate 66-138 loss, while the men secured another win, outlasting Willamette 131-70.
Top Performances
The men and women competed in 22 events for the day—the first two events began with the 200 yard medley relay including
Zoey Stapelman,
Riley Parker,
Ellie Hoover, and Claire Kulper locking in third place at a time of 2:02.15. Then,
Christopher McLellan,
Strom Nordeng,
Kaden Oprea, and Wyatt Greenie with an impressive time of 1:44.89 in first place.
The 1650 yard freestyle was next as
Laurel Knox secured first place with an impressive time of 19:05.93, launching the Bruins forward 9 points.
Micah Hugo came in third at 18:43.20. Then, Knox placed second in the 200 yard freestyle at 2:10.66, while
Cameron Alexander came in first at 1:55.21 for the men.
In the 50 yard freestyle,
Mia Smith placed fourth with a 27.11 time, and shortly after,
Aries Valenzuela placed second at 23.47.
Kaylee Dicey placed second in the 400 yard IM—5:11.18 for the women, and
Wyatt Greene locked in first place for the men with a time of 4:36.57.
In event 11—100 yard butterfly,
Ellie Hoover placed second with a solid time of 1:06.65, and
Cameron Alexander placed first with a 56:33 time.
Riley Parker placed third in the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 57.81;
August Maberry had a time of 52:08, landing in second.
Zoey Stapelman got a time of 1:08.92 in the difficult 100 yard backstroke placing third in the race. Then,
Aries Valenzuela had a lightning time of 55.37 for the men.
Event 17 was the 500 yard freestyle—
Jesse Urback placed first with a final time of 5:51.17 for the women, and
Wyatt Greene got first as well at 5:15.50.
Riley Parker made another impressive time, this time a 1:14.52 in second place during the 100 yard breaststroke.
Jared Gray achieved second place for the men with a total time of 1:04.93.
The last event was the 200 yard freestyle relay with
Claire Kuiper,
Kaylee Dicey,
Laurel Knox, and
Mia Smith, making first place in 1:49.10. The men's 200 yard freestyle relay consisted of
Cameron Alexander,
Kaden Oprea,
August Maberry, and
Aries Valenzuela at first place with a complete time of 1:32.07 for the day.
