PORTLAND, Ore. -- The George Fox men's soccer team defeated Lewis and Clark 3-0 Saturday afternoon, adding a solid win to their NWC record.
How It Happened
The George Fox Bruins excelled greatly in the first half scoring their first goal in the 35th minute of the game. The goal was scored by Bruin player, Kilanahe Waring. The goal was assisted by
Joshua Chang who sent a corner kick in — Waring capitalized on the corner, volleying the ball with his left foot into the lower left side of the goal. George Fox outshot Lewis and Clark 6-2 in the first half of play.
In the 63rd minute of the game
Isaac Nakayama scored the second goal for the Bruins. Nakamaya shot the ball from outside the 18 yard box, the ball then deflected off of one of the Pioneer defenders and landed in the bottom left of the net — giving George Fox a 2-0 lead over the Pioneers. The Bruins weren't done quite yet, in the 89th minute Issac Wilson tallied another goal, bringing down a cross from outside the top of the box and finishing it with a one touch shot to the back of the net. George Fox had a grand total of 18 shots to Lewis and Clark's four.

Justin Huttinger and defensive players had three saves and a shutout.
Coach's Thoughts
"Lewis and Clark continues to grow as a program and they ask difficult questions in transition moments," said Bruins head coach
Paul Karver. "We did a very good job in moving and possessing the ball today; we need to improve our standards in final decision making as we look toward tomorrow."

George Fox now has an overall record of 13-5-1 and an NWC record of 9-5-1. Lewis and Clark now has an overall record of 0-19 and an NWC record of 0-15.

George Fox men's soccer will play their final game of the season at home against Linfield on Sunday, November 10th. Kickoff is scheduled for 11am.
