How It Happened
All three doubles matches were close, with number one and three narrowly losing 8-5.
Vahag Pashayan and
Nanase Ebisu teamed up together in the number one slot and the regular pair of
Hunter Fujimori and
Zach Moore played in the third spot.
Lars Schmassmann and
Eli Mizerski lost the number two match, 8-4.
Heading into singles, the Bruins saw themselves split multiple first and second sets; ultimately, only one of those would go the Bruins way. After losing the first set, 7-5,
Nanase Ebisu won the second set 6-3. Nanase would then go on to win the tiebreaker, earning Fox their lone point on the day.
Hunter Fujimori and
Zach Moore found themselves in similar situations. Fujimori won his first set, 7-5, before losing the second set, 6-1, then losing the tiebreaker.
Zach Moore, lost the first set, 6-0, but then stormed back to win the second set, 6-4. In the end Moore was unable to secure the win in the tiebreaker.
Eli Mizerski battled closely in his match against Marco Siviero, losing, 6-4, 6-4.
Vahag Pashayan lost in the second spot, 6-2, 6-0, and
Jackson Whittaker lost in the sixth spot, 6-0, 6-1.
What's Next
The Bruins are now 4-9, and the Gustavus Adolphus improved to 12-6 on the year. The Bruins have a short turnaround as they travel to Tacoma, Washington, to play a Northwest Conference matchup against the Loggers. The match will begin at noon.
