The two teams traded possession back and forth for the next few minutes, before Olivia Geyling extended the Bruin lead with a goal, 2-0. Though Whitman was able to score twice in the period, Fox outshot them, 13-6, to build a 6-2 lead by the end of the quarter.

The Blues bounced back in the second period, though, outscoring Fox 7-3 in the quarter. Davis, Marena Tharpe and Morgan Maxfield all scored early for the Bruins, before Whitman went on a six goal run to level the score heading into halftime, 9-9.

George Fox dominated the shot count in the third period, outshooting Whitman 11-6 to regain the momentum and take the lead. Tharpe and Geyling were the first to score, before Lana Davis notched two more goals of her own to send Fox into the final quarter ahead, 14-11.

The Bruins continued to build offensive rhythm in the final period, ending the game with a four-goal run in which four different players scored. Whitman notched just one goal in reply, giving Fox a runaway victory, 19-12.
