TACOMA, Wash. -- The George Fox women's lacrosse team came out quickly in the Bruins' 23-3 win over the Puget Sound Loggers, scoring early and often in a dominant win.
How It Happened
The first quarter was nothing short of domination by the Fox women, as they outshot Puget Sound, 16-0, and outscored them 12-0. The first goal of the game was courtesy of
Ava Bluhm, who got one past the Puget Sound goalie 23 seconds into the game. Eight different players went on to score a goal, with
Lana Davis leading the way with four and
Claire Abraham scoring two.
Fox slowed down the pace in the second as the game shifted to running clock, with just four total goals — two apiece for each team — scored in the quarter. Abraham and
Payton Bergren each scored a goal to give Fox a 14-2 lead heading into half.
The Bruins came out with a similar fire to the first quarter in the third, scoring six goals to help Fox take a 20-3 lead. Bluhm scored twice in the period, with five other Bruins scoring a goal. The defense locked in in the entire second half, forcing 11 Logger turnovers. Puget Sound was limited to just one shot in the entire half as the Bruins cruised to a 23-3 win.

Sasha Thayer controlling the game with five draw controls.
What It Means
Fox improves to 8-3 (7-0 NWC) on the season, while the Loggers are now 2-6 (1-4 NWC) Â on the season.Â
