Walla Walla, Wash. -- George Fox men's soccer fought for a 2-2 tie today in a conference away game against Whitman.
How It Happened
George Fox started the game off on a high note this afternoon scoring early against the Whitman Blues. Junior defender,
Elijah Soon, scored a high center goal after receiving an assist from freshman
Harrison Emert during the sixth minute of the game. The Bruins kept up the attack, drawing a penalty in the 33rd minute. The Blues keeper Lucas Haigh stopped the attempt by
Eugene Peltier, giving Whitman the momentum. They retaliated in the 36th minute with a goal from Lucas McAllister. Whitman kept up their offense, scoring a second goal two minutes later from Jacob Burrill.
George Fox maintained their attack through the game with
Eugene Peltier scoring a goal in the 75th minute, tying up the match. Though Whitman outshot George Fox 18-10, goalkeeper
Justin Huttinger had four saves.

"Today we took another step forward," Said Head Coach
Paul Karver. "The game was defined by moments where we need to be better, but we got the result because of our ability to overcome the challenge that was in front of us. Down 1-2 at half we had a number of questions to answer, and Whitman deserves a great deal of credit for that. At the end of the day, coming home with points is important, and we believe the road ahead will present more opportunities for points in the future."
