BOSTON, Mass.-- The George Fox men's soccer team kept their strong start to the season going with a second consecutive dominant victory over Emmanuel, kicking off their East Coast swing with a 5-1 victory.
How It HappenedÂ
Talon Wagner got things going early for the Bruins, taking a low shot to the left corner of the goal in the eighth minute of the game to give Fox a 1-0 lead. The goal was assisted by
Connor Kong, who later added a goal for the Bruins in the 16th minute of the game to give GFU a 2-0 lead on the Saints.Â
Kaimi Victor was the next to take care of business, putting away two goals within the span of two minutes leading into the end of the first half. Four minutes later, the Saints retaliated and took advantage of a penalty kick, but the Bruins ended the first half with a massive 4-1 lead over the Saints.Â
In the second half of the match, George Fox remained steady, upping their score to 5-1 with a beautiful goal from senior
Joshua Chang. Fox shut out Emmanuel in the second half and wrapped up the game dominating in shots, 13-7.Â

Coach's ThoughtsÂ
"The opportunity to visit Boston has provided an incredible opportunity to experience the history of our country while our young group bonds," Head Coach
Paul Karver said, "Tonight we were able to jump out to a strong start against a very athletic Emanuel team. As the game progressed they asked a number of questions of us that we did a good job of answering. The goal production this evening was special, but the growth for us comes in how we created those moments, and the next step is holding our standards longer and more consistently. Emerson will present a completely different challenge and we are looking forward to that opportunity."
What It Means
Bruins start their year with two wins, and now stand 2-0. Emmanuel falls to 1-2 on the season.
