BOSTON Mass. -- The George Fox men's soccer team takes home another win whilst wrapping up their weekend on the East Coast, taking down Emerson in a 2-1 victory to start 3-0 for the first time in over 15 years.
How It HappenedÂ
Emerson started things early, with senior forward Theodore Bushara scoring a goal in the eighth minute for the Lions. It didn't take long for Bruins forward
Joshua Chang to answer back, placing the ball in the top right corner of the net in the 11th minute. The aggression during the game was persistent as both teams ended the first half with a yellow on each side.Â
During the 51st minute of the game, the Bruins took the lead.
Connor Kong took a high shot to the middle of the goal after receiving an assist from teammate
Samuel Graves. Though Emerson outshot George Fox 7-2, the Bruins defense held down the fort, shutting the Lions out during the second half. Both teams obtained a whopping seven yellow cards through the course of the match, but in the end, it was Fox on top.Â
