NEWBERG, Ore. – The George Fox women's soccer team played against Lewis & Clark, with the game ending in a hard-fought scoreless tie.
How It Happened
In the first half, both teams struggled to keep control over the ball—
Isabelle Carrington shot the ball at the goal eight minutes into the game, but it was blocked by the Pios.
Alexis Breer attempted to score about a minute later, but it was blocked once again—Lewis & Clark had a tight defense.
The Bruins stayed in the fight though, as
Lindsey Kong attempted a shot, meanwhile
Liv Haima tried to make a goal, but Lewis & Clark was keen on keeping the ball out. The clock was ticking and the score was still 0-0. 32 minutes in,
Sarah Burkes tried to score, but missed just to the left of the net. Haima attempted to score one last time, but that was the last shot of the first half, the score sitting at 0-0.
Fox had a little trouble gaining possession over the ball, as Lewis & Clark attempted to shoot, fighting for the upper hand. Eventually, Breer shot the ball at the goal, but missed to the left side—the Pioneers managed to gain control for the majority of the game, but Breer tried another shot in low center, but it was saved by Lewis & Clark—keeping the score at nothing.
Fox gave it their all in the remaining few minutes, as
Isabella Hector charged the goal with an attempted shot, but it was blocked—a minute later, Breer sent the ball to the net but missed just to the left. The period ended in a score of 0-0, another tie for the books.
