BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- The 2025 D3football.com All-Region rosters have been announced, with Jacob Erickson of the George Fox football team being named to the first team of Region 6

Erickson was a monster at defensive end, finishing seventh in the nation with 12.0 sacks — a GFU program record. Erickson also set a career record with 29.5 sacks in his three years on the field. For a five-sack performance against Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (another program high mark), Erickson was named Northwest Conference Student-Athlete of the Week and to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

Alongside his outrageous sack numbers, Erickson had 18 TFLs (14th in the nation), to go alongside 62 total tackles. Despite his position on the defensive line, the senior led the team in tackles on the year and recorded more tackles than two other First Team All-NWC linebackers — all while facing double and triple-teams up front. Erickson forced two fumbles, recorded 11 additional QB hurries, and blocked two kicks. For his efforts, he was named the 2025 NWC Defensive Player of the Year and put on the All-NWC First Team.

"I'd like to begin by saying that all glory belongs to God, first and foremost," Erickson said, "I'm incredibly grateful and honored to receive this national recognition. I wouldn't have reached this level without the belief and support of my coaches, teammates, athletic trainers, family, and my girlfriend. Lastly, I'm beyond thankful for the opportunity to play the game I love again, one that has given me so many unforgettable moments in my life."

With the honor, Erickson became the first Bruin since Nash Wylie in 2023 to be named to an All-Region team. He also became the first First-Team All-Region athlete since Leon Johnson III and First-Team defensive athlete since 2017. It's Erickson's second career All-Region nod; the senior defensive lineman was named to the 2022 Second Team after his freshman season.

D3football.com Region 6 includes the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Northwest Conference, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference, and the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Select Region 6 sports information directors and D3football.com staff chose the All-Region honorees from 173 nominations by full Division III member schools. A total of 80 players were selected.

As Erickson was named All-Region, he will be eligible to be considered for D3football.com All-America honors, which will be announced Monday, Dec. 22, 2025.
