PHOENIX, Ariz. -- The George Fox baseball team bore a 2-6 loss against the North Central Cardinals Friday afternoon, the first game of three for the weekend.
How It HappenedÂ
The top of the first inning was unproductive, but the Cardinals gained control as they made the first run, 0-1 with three left on base. Then, in the bottom of the second inning, the Cardinals catapulted even farther in the lead as they scored four runs with one runner left on base.
Caleb Debban pitched well in the third inning, notching two strikeouts and keeping North Central off the board. Action resumed in the top of the fourth when
Andre Butler doubled to left field, and then stole third.
Carson Coulter then homered to left field, giving Butler a chance to score a run. After the lively moment for the Bruins, the score stayed at 2-4 until the next inning.
North Central scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth inning—2-6, but neither team was able to score again for the remainder of the game, leaving the Cardinals with a win.

Carson Coulter and
Andre Butler were leading the game as they both had one run and one hit each. Coulter also had one home run and two RBIs.Â
