NEWBERG, Ore. -- The George Fox men's tennis team finished up their final game before their California trip as they secured a commanding victory over Linfield, 6-1.

George Fox came out strong in the doubles matches, sweeping all three contests.
Lars Schmassmann and
Ikuho Ebisu set the tone early with a decisive 6-1 win over Brooks Lerfald and Rogue Stone. At No. 2 doubles,
Zach Moore and
Keita Shoji battled through a tight match, ultimately emerging victorious in a seventh set tiebreaker, 7-6 (3). Rounding out the doubles sweep,
Jackson Whittaker and
Joseph Vece delivered a strong 6-2 win at the No. 3 position.
The Bruins carried their momentum into singles play, winning five of six matches. No. 1 singles saw
Lars Schmassmann dominate Brooks Lerfald with a 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Zach Moore followed suit, overpowering Rogue Stone 6-2, 6-2.
Ikuho Ebisu faced a challenge in the No. 3 singles spot but showed resilience, rallying from a first-set deficit to defeat Cameron Paulsen 5-7, 6-3, 10-6.
Keita Shoji continued the Bruins' strong performance with a convincing 6-0, 6-3 win over Abhi Acharya on court four, while
Jackson Whittaker maintained the team's dominance with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph against Matous Young on court five.
Linfield managed to secure their only win at court number six, where Cody Pickar defeated
Joseph Vece 6-2, 6-2.
What Happens Next
The Bruins will be off for one week before heading to California for a spring break trip. Fox will play Occidental in their first of three matches down south on Monday, March 24.Â
