KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced the 2024-25 NABC Division III All-District Teams and District Coaches of the Year, with
Momo Stokes being named First Team All-Region.
It's the second straight season that Stokes has been named to All-Region — the senior was named to the D3hoops.com All-Region team in 2023-24. He was one of two NWC players to be named to the All-Region team, alongside Jake Holtz at Whitworth.Â
"It continues to be rewarding to see Momo receive the recognition he has earned and deserves," Bruin head coach
Maco Hamilton said, "I'm super thrilled for Momo, his family, and our program!"
Stokes has been racking up accolades to end his storied career, becoming the first Bruins to be named NWC Player of the Year in 20 years after averaging a career-high 22.0 points per game — the fifth-highest single-season average in program history. An efficient scorer from anywhere on the field, Stokes shot 46.6% from the field, 46.5% from deep, and 76.1% from the line despite being heavily guarded and double-teamed in nearly every game.
Three times, the senior scored 30-plus points, including a 38-point performance (the fourth-most in Bruin history) that put him over the 1,000 career point mark. In 23 games, Stokes scored double-digits all but one time and scored 15 or more all but five.
Beyond his scoring, Stokes was also a key distributor and pesky on defense, averaging 3.3 assists per game and 2.3 assists per game. Those numbers, along with his blocks and points averages, were all career highs, numbers that helped Stokes be named to the The Division III All-Star Game — serving as the only Northwest Conference player to be named to the roster of 20.
