FOREST GROVE, Ore. – The George Fox men's soccer team fell down early in the second half, but rallied in the second half to force a tie with the Pacific Boxers, 1-1.
How It Happened

Talon Wagner found an opening early in the game, firing a shot that just missed the top of the net.
Wilson Fresh then took a shot of his own, but couldn't find the back of the net. Undeterred, Merric Merino attempted to break the stalemate in the 42nd minute, but couldn't tip the score in the Bruin's favor before halftime. At the half, the score was tied, 0-0.
A Boxer shot from Caden Matsumoto from the 20 yard line found the back of the net to score the first goal by a Boxer against the Bruins in two years, giving Pacific a second-half lead, 1-0. Bolstered, Pacific attempted another shot just eight minutes later, but
Chase Nelson was there for the save. Fresh and
Eugene Peltier each attempted a shot in the second half, but to no avail.
In the 82nd minute, the Bruins stepped up.
Isaac Williams infiltrated the box and found the bottom right corner of the goal, tying up the game with just eight minutes to spare. The Bruins managed to keep the tie during the nail-biter of a second half, resulting in a 1-1 tie.
Top Performances
Chase Nelson collected two saves on the day to keep the Boxers within range.
Isaac Williams made the only Bruin goal of the day.
Eugene Peltier and Meric Marino each had a shot on goal as well.
Coach's Thoughts
"As disappointing as it was to give up the goal," Karver said, "it showed a great deal of character to come back to tie the game."
What It Means
The Bruins now record 2-1-3 (0-0-2 NWC), while the Boxers record is 1-2-2 (1-0-1 NWC).
