TACOMA, Wash. – The George Fox men's soccer team fell to Pacific Lutheran in a scrappy 3-0 game.
How It Happened
The Lutes attacked early, attempting a shot just a single minute into the first half. The aggression continued as Pacific Lutheran found another opening in the third minute. A tremendous effort from
Chase Nelson resulted in a save for the Bruin keeper, but PLU managed to make another opportunity for themselves just ten seconds later, resulting in a goal, 1-0. The Lutes ruthlessly score another goal just minutes later, raising the score to 2-0.
George Fox attempted a counter attack of their own with shots from
Eugene Peltier, Pierce O'Donnell, and
Kellin Aguiar, but none could break past the Lute defense to find the back of the net.
Carson Tapia took two shots within seven minutes of each other to round out the half for the Bruins, but the score was still stuck, 2-0, at the end of the half.
An immediate foul on George Fox at the beginning of the second half allowed the Lutes to widen the gap to 3-0 with a penalty kick. Peltier attempted a shot for the Bruins, resulting in a yellow card that allowed him a freekick. Despite a great two attempts from Peltier, the score remained unchanged.
Wilson Fresh also attempted a shot, but couldn't find the back of the net for the Bruins, who dropped the game, 3-0.
