Win Streak Improves to Five as Bruins Down Knights, Hilltoppers

2/14/2026 3:57:00 PM

NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The George Fox STUNT team made sure their Valentine's Day was a sweet one, continuing an undefeated start to the Saint Mary's Tournament with wins over St. Norbert and St. Edward's.

How It Happened
For their second consecutive game, the No. 1-ranked Bruins faced off against a team that was new to STUNT — this time, the St. Norbert Knights. Once again, it was a 12-0 victory for the Bruins as Fox swept every available point in the eight-count game.

Two hours later, the Bruins would play in a much more competitive game, downing St. Edward's, 21-15. The game was close at the jump, with neither team earning a point in the first routine and splitting the next. The Bruins would score the next two points, taking a 3-1 run lead into the second.

As Fox has done throughout the season, the Bruins would control the pyramids and tosses quarter. After not earning a point on the first routine, a stretch of routines three, two, and one proved beneficial for GFU; the Bruins would outscore the Hilltoppers, 4-1, over the remainder of the quarter to take a 7-2 lead at halftime.

The Bruins would eke out the next two jumps and tumbling routines, winning within two on each occasion. Then it would be the Hilltoppers turn to win within two before neither turn earned a point in the final playcall of the third, routine five. Thanks in part to the close games, the Bruins took a 12-6 lead to the final quarter.

Though the scoreboard would read 21-15 after the game, Fox was never in danger in the fourth quarter. SEU opened up with routine two, one that GFU won, 4-3, to put to rest any Hilltopper comeback efforts. The two teams would split the following routines (three and one), 2-2, before SEU won the final routine. When all was said and done, Fox had won their fifth straight, winning 21-15.

Top Performers
Against St. Norbert, Katey Bailey was named tumble of the game, Averie Potts was named stunter of the game, and Corinne Romo was named athlete of the game. Three different Bruins earned those awards in game two: Christina Converse was top tumbler, Kennidy Outlaw was top stunter, and Marlee Rae was top athlete.

What Happens Next
The Bruins will be back for day three of their first-ever three-day midseason tourney. The first of the two games is scheduled to begin at 5:00 am Pacific.
