NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- The George Fox STUNT team is one of the hottest teams in the nation — and showed some of the top-ranked Division III teams just that, downing No. 6 Heidelberg, 16-1, and No. 8 Centenary, 20-2.
How It Happened
The Bruins did not earn a point in two of the three points against Heidelberg, but Fox quickly showed why they were ranked No. 1 in the nation, blanking the Berg in the first half. Though neither team earned a point four of the first seven routines, Fox took control after a 4-0 halftime lead.
Fox opened with a within-two victory over the Berg (the only point Heidelberg would earn on the day) before capturing at least one point in every succeeding routine. Fox took a 9-1 lead into the fourth and went on to earn three, one, two, and one point in each of the full routines in the final period, capturing a 20-1 victory.
The next game saw similar results as the first, as the Bruins faced No. 8 Centenary. This time around, GFU controlled the game from the jump, winning the first point on routine one to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. The Bruins never outright lost a point in the game, with two routines (the third of the second quarter and the second of the fourth) being within two. When all was said and done, Fox won their program-record sixth straight game downing the Ladies, 20-2.
