Miller Becomes Second Bruin to Earn Team of the Week Nod in 2026

4/15/2026 10:31:00 AM

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. -- For the second time in 2026, a George Fox baseball player has been named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

For the first time in his career, Andrew Miller picked up a national award following a career outing against Lewis & Clark. Miller allowed just three baserunners, one hit and no runs against in 4.0 innings pitched across two games, picking up a pair of saves in the Bruins' series win over Lewis & Clark. The junior struck out two of the three batters he faced in the ninth inning, retiring the Otts' side to give GFU the 4-3 win on Saturday. Then, on Sunday, Miller allowed one hit in three innings pitched, earning a save in Fox's 7-4 win.

Miller was the second GFU player to earn a Team of the Week honor, with Brennan Bates picking up a national nod for his three-home run series against Linfield in March. It's the first time two different Bruins have been named to the Team of the Week since Jerred Seamons, and Jason Garcia in 2019, and the first Bruin pitcher to earn the honor since Clay Gartner in 2013.

The George Fox baseball team will be back in action against the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags, ranked No. 10 in the D3baseball/NWBCA Poll and No. 11 in the ABCA Poll, for a four-game set. First pitch of game one is scheduled for 3:00 pm on Friday, April 17.
