Austin Shadbolt joined the Bruins' coaching staff in 2020-21 for his first season as a coach after graduating with his degree from Fox in interdisciplinary studies, focusing on Health and Human Performance and Psychology.
Shadbolt first joined the Bruins' coaching ranks as a running backs coach and has overseen the team's wide receivers since 2021. In the 2022 Season, he coached receiver Leon Johnson III to First Team All American status, NWC Offensive Player of the Year and Unanimous First Team All Conference awards, and Dillan Dobbins to a Second Team All-NWC nod.
He has overseen the Passing Game since 2021, and the team led the conference in passing in 2022, doubling passing numbers from the previous season. Fox ended 2022 17th in the nation in passing yards, sixth in the nation in Yards per Completion, and 5th in the Nation in Passing Efficiency.
Shadbolt played four seasons at George Fox and was a two-time All-NWC linebacker for the Bruins, recording 151 career tackles in 38 games. His 151 career tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, six sacks, and four interceptions are all still top 10 on the Bruins' performance lists for the football program.
A two-way athlete at running back and linebacker for Sherwood HS, Shadbolt currently lives in his hometown with his wife, Meghan, and son, Elijah.
