Box Score NEWBERG, Ore. --- The George Fox women's lacrosse team hosted their final non-conference match-up of the season on Saturday, as the Bruins took on the skillful Bulldogs of Redlands in a 15-8 loss.
Recap:
The first period got off to an extremely quick start, as sophomore Jess Hanson scored at the 29:38 mark, but the Bulldogs answered a minute later with the equalizer, 1-1. Lois Ray scored on a man-up free position play a couple minutes later to retake the lead for the Bruins, but again, the Bulldogs responded with a goal of their own, 2-2. Alexa Nakashimada found Hanson on the cross and Hanson fired one by the goalie to bring the Bruins within one, 4-3. Redlands scored with eight minutes left to go back up by two, but Hanson would be the hero again scoring at the 2:04 mark.
The Bruins went into the half down by one, 5-4.
Redlands came out of the break with a vengeance, scoring six straight goals to jump out to a seven goal lead, 11-4. The Bruins tried to rally back, but the goal differential proved to be too much, as the Bruins couldn't score in bunches.
