WEST LINN, Ore. --- The George Fox softball team traveled to play Puget Sound in its final doubleheader of the weekend, earning the four game sweep with two big wins, Sunday afternoon.

Recap:
Game One:
Sophomore Alyssa Gonzales began the game with a bang, smashing an RBI triple to bring home Rachel LaRont in the bottom of the second inning, giving the Bruins the early lead.

The Bruins capitalized on the momentum with a huge four-run inning in the bottom of the third to widen the gap.

 Annie Veatch began the offensive effort with a single up the middle, followed by a walk from Alex Parker to advance Veatch to second. Savannah Vargas hit a single up the middle for the RBI, sending home Brooke Yasuda who was pinch running for Veatch. Roni Braun stepped up to plate in the next at-bat and hit a two RBI double, allowing Vargas and Parker to score. A single from Aaliyah Kautz down the right field line earned the fourth RBI of the inning, sending Braun home.

The Bruins didn't ease off the gas pedal, even with a 5-0 lead. Veatch reached third on a throwing error, a wild pitch, and a single from Parker, setting her up for the score off of a RBI single from Vargas. With the bases loaded, Kautz hit a two RBI single to end the game, 8-0.

Game Two:
It was the Loggers who came out swinging in game two, jumping out to a 2-0 lead after two innings.

The Bruins came back in a big way in the bottom of the third, scoring a monster five runs to jump ahead of the visiting Loggers.

The scoring effort began with a double from Rebecca Pridmore and a single from Julia Apodaca. Allison Meyer stepped up to the plate and hit an inside the park home run to clear the bases for the 3 RBIs. Parker and Vargas reached home on errors later in the inning to give the team a 5-2 lead.

Veatch struck again for the Bruins in the bottom of the fourth, hitting a single up the middle to bring home Pridmore who was camped on third base.

Puget Sound had two runs in the top of the fifth to keep the game competitive with a score of 6-4.

The Bruins came back with another five-run inning in the bottom of the sixth as Parker, Kimi Ito, and Gonzales all earned an RBI while Veatch had two. The effort was more than enough to earn the victory as the game ended with the Bruins on top, 11-4.

Top Performers:
Game One:
Kautz led the Bruin offense in this one, connecting with the ball on both of her at-bats and tallying three RBIs. Braun and Vargas chipped in two RBI apiece as well. Veatch went 2-3 at the plate. Sorensen went the distance with another complete game to earn the win and improve to 7-2 on the season.

Game Two:
Veatch and Meyer led the offense in game two of the series, each tallying three RBIs. Veatch went three-for-four at the plate and Meyer went two-for-four. Gonzales, Ito, Kautz and Parker all contributed to the balanced Bruin scoring effort with an RBI. Bergerson pitched a complete game to improve her record to 4-4 on the season.

What It Means:
The Bruins improve to 12-6 on the season and 8-4 in the Northwest Conference.

What Comes Next:
The softball team will travel to Lewis & Clark Saturday, March 25, to play in a conference doubleheader at 12:00pm and 2:00pm.
