Box Score SPOKANE, Wash. --- After dropping the first game of the Northwest Conference Tournament Friday, the George Fox softball team bounced back with a 2-0 win over No. 22 and No. 2-seed Linfield College in the NWC Tournament elimination game.

George Fox kept its hopes alive early, as the fourth-seeded Bruins scored one run in the top of the first. Kimi Ito wasted no time for the Bruins, as the sophomore leadoff hitter opened the game up with a deep home run.
Madison Sorensen received the nod in the circle for the Bruins, and held the top-ranked 'Cats to five hits on the day.
The Bruins managed to get Sorensen some insurance in the third inning after Allison Meyer hit a two-out double through the left side. Annie Veatch was up to the task in the next at bat, hitting a single to right field to bring Meyer home for what would be the final run of the game.
The 'Cats looked to strike back in the bottom of the third with runners on second and third and one out on the board. The Bruins got out of the jam with a double play to keep the 'Cats scoreless.
Sorensen continued to deal for the Bruins, allowing just one hit in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Linfield looked to seize its opportunity in the seventh inning with bases loaded and two outs. Sorensen got out of the jam with a groundout to complete her shutout victory.
Top Performers:
Sorensen recorded her 15th complete game for the Bruins and improved her record to 13-8 on the season. She also recorded two strikeouts in the victory. Both Ito and Veatch came away with one RBI.
What It Means:
With the win, the Bruins' hopes are still alive with another elimination game at 5p.m.

The Bruins will face Pacific Lutheran in the nightcap Saturday, April 22, at 5p.m.
