MCMINNVILLE --- In a must-win contest, the George Fox softball team dropped a 9-1 game against Northwest Conference rival Linfield to end its season.

The Bruins looked to be in control early after Rebecca Pridmore walked to begin the top of the first inning. After a single by Savannah Vargas, Pridmore advanced to second, but nothing came of an early offensive attack as the game remainder 0-0 after the top half of the first inning.
The 'Cats jumped on the board early, scoring on an RBI single to take an early 1-0 lead.
The Bruins tied the game on a big solo home run by Kimi Ito to even the score 1-1. The Bruins continued to threaten but couldn't get anything across as they ended the inning tied.
The 'Cats added four runs in the second to take a 5-1 lead.
The Bruins failed to add runs in the final innings. The 'Cats managed to score runs in the top of the fifth and take control 5-1.
The 'Cats picked up two in the sixth to take control and finish off the Regional victor 9-1.
Top Performers
Ito drove in the lone run on the afternoon. Annie Veatch, Savannah Vargas and Ito combined for the three hits produced by the Bruins.
Alyssa Gonzalez and Kimi Ito were both named to the All-Tournament Team.
