SALEM, Ore. — The George Fox volleyball team traveled to Salem Friday night for an NWC matchup with the Willamette Bearcats and fell 3-1. The Bruins lost by set scores of 17-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-27.
How it HappenedÂ
The Bearcats took the opening set 25-17. The Bruins competed throughout as Kaitlin Nemecek and
Kassandra Staton both had a pair of strong kills, but Willamette took a 1-0 lead.Â
Willamette got out to a fast start to take an early lead in the second game. The Bruins battled back and held tight throughout but Willamette pulled away for the final few serves to go up 2-0 with a 25-21 set score.
George Fox wouldn't go away without a fight, turning in a strong effort in the third set, shooting out to a 23-13 lead before staving off the Bearcats to earn a 25-23 set win and narrow the match score to 2-1.Â
Unfortunately it wouldn't be enough as the Bearcats clawed out a 27-25 win in the fourth set to take the match 3-1.
Top Performers
Addison Robertson led the way with 11 kills and Nemecek added 10 more for the Bruins.
Kennedy Kibby had a team-high 30 assists.

What it Means
The Bruins fall to 7-5 on the season and 2-4 in conference play as they continue to carry through their road trip.
What's Next
The Bruins head to Tacoma next Friday for their twelfth consecutive road match to face off with Puget Sound.
