FOREST GROVE, Ore. — The George Fox men's basketball team rolled to a non conference victory Saturday night over Evergreen State by a final score of 91-73.
How It Happened
The Bruins carried out a thorough winning effort in Forest Grove at the Ken Schumann Classic. George Fox utilized strong play across the board to bury the Geoducks, especially in transition.
The Bruins jumped ahead early and never let up. The Geoducks kept things close through the first ten minutes of competition before George Fox made an 8-2 run around the 7 minute mark in the half to take a double-digit lead at 32-22. George Fox led 48-35 at the half. James Moore led the Bruins in scoring with 10 points in the first half as George Fox shot 62% from the field in the first opening period.
George Fox saw its shooting percentage slip in the second half but the Bruins still found baskets consistently as four Fox players logged six points or more in the half and the Bruins stretched the lead and finished off the 91-73 win.
Top Performers
Five George Fox players hit double-figures in the game. Moore led the way with 16 on 60% three-point shooting followed by Kalu Stricklin with 15 while Zack Sly, Brendan Ritschard, and Charlie Powers each added 10 for the Bruins.
What it Means
George Fox took a clean sweep of the weekend, going 2-0 in Forest Grove following Friday's win over St. Thomas (TX). The Bruins are 2-0 to start the season now.
