CLAREMONT, Calif. --- The George Fox women's basketball team came away empty-handed on its SoCal trip after a close loss to Pomona-Pitzer on Sunday, Nov. 21, falling 75-69.

A high-powered first quarter tilted toward the Sagehens with a 22-17 lead for the hosts after ten minutes. Erin Yoshitake led the way in the first quarter with five points and Alexa Borter chipped in four off the bench to help keep pace.
The second quarter was the difference-maker in the game. Fox gave the ball away nine times and surrendered 11 points off those turnovers. Fox was outscored 21-11 in the frame after taking just nine shots in the quarter and trailed 43-28 at the break.
The Bruins adjusted in the third quarter and made a game of it after outscoring their hosts 41-32 in the final 20 minutes, but it wasn't enough to overcome the 15-point halftime deficit. The Bruins were able to limit their turnovers in the second half to pull back within six, but the Sagehens held off the rally try to save the win.
