Box Score SANTA CRUZ, Calif. --- Despite a solid defensive outing, the George Fox men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to an offensively powerful UC Santa Cruz for their second loss in the UCSC Tournament.
How It Happened
The Bruins entered into the match having to contain a strong offensive pressure in UC Santa Cruz. The Banana Slugs controlled possession for the majority of the match and found their lone goal in the 64th minute from Derek Uemura.
The Banana Slugs held possession in the Bruins' defensive third for the opening 18 minutes of play, but George Fox stood tall defensively. Goalkeeper

Joshua Chang had the Bruins' best chance at leveling the first half on a pass from fellow freshman

The Bruins sat back in defense to start the second half, limiting UCSC chances until Uemura's goal in the 64th minute ultimately turned into the difference in the match.

Alex Muir played a strong game at the goalkeeper spot and kept the Bruins level with the Banana Slugs for the majority of the match with seven saves before UCSC ultimately broke through.
