NEWBERG, Ore. --- Danielle Brown displayed veteran experience on the court today, besting each of her opponents on her way to the round of 16 in Saturday ITA Northwest Singles action.

How It Happened

Fifth-year senior Brown led five Bruins past round one of main-draw singles before ousting her round two adversary. Brown is the lone GFU survivor in singles action after cruising through 24 of her 26 games played on Saturday.

The Bruins advanced two doubles pairs to the round of 16 in Ellie Mangan and Olivia Morris, and Danielle Brown and Kalli Wiker. The duos defeated their opponents, 8-2 and 8-3, respectively, before bowing out in the second round.

Coach's Thoughts

"Overall, it was a good day," said head coach Rick Cruz. "I thought everyone competed well, and we won most of the matches we should have. Our next step is winning some of those tougher matches, and that will happen with more experience. It's exciting to have Danielle make it to the round of 16! She has really improved her game over the course of her career, and it showed today."
