TACOMA, Wash. — The George Fox volleyball team suffered its first straight-sets loss of the season, falling to the Pacific Lutheran Lutes Saturday night.
How it Happened
After competitive losses in the first two sets (25-21, 25-22), GFU fell way behind early in the final game, with PLU storming to a 15-4 lead on the way to a 25-11 finish to the sweep. The Lutes used a powerful attack to wear down the Bruins notching 45 kills over the three sets to remain undefeated in conference play. The Bruins struggled to answer the Lutes power, with PLU hitting at a .252 compared to Fox's .113.Â

Bailey LeBreton led the Bruins with nine kills, followed closely by sophomore
Kassandra Staton with eight. Senior
Sophia Lawrence led the team defensively with 16 digs while sophomore
Kaitlyn Johnson notched two aces.
