NEWBERG, Ore. — The George Fox baseball team hosted Lewis & Clark on Saturday afternoon for a Northwest Conference doubleheader for games one and two of a three-game weekend tilt. George Fox came away with a win in the opener and the Pioneers took game two to split the doubleheader and set up a Sunday rubber match.
How It Happened

Noah Meffert singled home Jeremy Sangalang in the first inning and gave the Bruins a lead which they never surrendered. Brandon King and Tyler Durant batted in a pair of runs each as the game went on and the Bruins held pat for the 5-1 win.
Lewis & Clark flipped the scoreboard in game two with a 5-1 win of its own. The Pios used a 3-run sixth inning to hold off the Bruins. Travis Miller took the loss for the Bruins, giving up three runs on five innings of work. Breyndon Nakamura scored in the sixth for the Bruins on a hit by Sangalang for the lone George Fox run.
