FOREST GROVE, Ore. — One day after picking up their first win of the season, the George Fox Men's basketball team had a historic night, dropping 116 points on Portland Bible College to collect a resounding victory, 116-44.
How It Happened
The Bruins jumped out to a roaring start, taking a commanding 30-7 lead midway through the first quarter, and had thoroughly begun to run away with the game. By the time the first half had come to an end, the Bruins held a 54-14 lead and had shot over 50%. Fox held the Arrows to just four made field goals.
The Bruins didn't slow down in the second half, extending their lead to 52 halfway through the second half. Though they rested their starters for most of the second, other players stepped up; after a lights-out first half,
Trey McDonald III continued his hot play with another flawless second half, tying the George Fox school record with a 10-10 performance from the field. The Bruins finished with four players into double digits, while McDonald's perfect night helped propel him to a 20-point game. Ultimately, their 72-point win was one of the largest margins of victory in program history — trailing their 87-point win over Northwest in 1987.
