PORTLAND, McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- The George Fox track and field team traveled the short distance to McMinnville and Portland to compete in their various events for the day at the Linfield Open and Portland Twilight meets.
Linfield Open Performers
For the track events,
Grant Middlekauff totaled a solid time of 53.66 seconds while
Connor Hatch finished just over that in 54.99 seconds in the Men's 400m run. Then, in the Men's 100m dash,
Ryan Maier and
Thomas McMillan were neck and neck with times of 11.58 seconds for Maier and 11.62 seconds for McMillan; half a second later was
Kyle Goecks with a time of 12.14.Â
In the Men's 800m,
Josiah Sohus locked in a time of just under two minutes with 1:59.30, with
Kyle Goecks following in the next event with a time of 24.52 seconds in his heat of the Men's 200m. Five athletes competed in the Men's 1500m, with
Aidan Arthur finished with a time of 3:52.72 minutes,
Carson Stockwell had a time of 4:01.17,
Taylor Bramel had a time of 4:02.91,
Trevor Wilber finished in 4:09.18, and
Maximus Chalpoutis coming in with a time of 4:14.99.
For the field events,
Adrianna Wilson placed fifth in the Women's Pole Vault with a vault of 2.83m. Then, in Women's High Jump,
Marina Carroll won with a height of 1.52m, while
Madeleine O'Hare got fourth with a height of 1.42m. In Women's Long Jump,
Emily Crawford totaled a mark of 4.89m, and Sophia Olsen a mark of 4.61m.
In the men's long jump, McMillan got a mark of 5.97m in the, with
Jaelene Diaz Chavez registering a distance of 43.08m in the Women's Hammer Throw.
Nathaniel Koenig threw a 46.85m,
Henry Samuelson a 39.35m, and
Daniel Morales a 35.34m in the Men's Hammer Throw.
Elijah Potter achieved a distance of 49.91m in the Men's Javelin Throw, as
Kailee Walker placed third in the Women's Discus Throw with a distance of 38.85m.
Aubree New followed with a solid 28.78m, and Chavez was behind with a 28.70m.
Daniel Morales also got a throw of 29.51m in the Men's Discus Throw. In the Women's Shot Put,
Lainey Pierson finished with a distance of 9.15m in flight one, while
Aubree New got a distance of 10.58 in the second flight.Â
In total, the Bruins finished the Linfield Open with two podium finishers in
Marina Carroll and
Kailee Walker — with many of their field athletes not competing due to rainy weather.
Portland Twilight Performers
Starting off strong,
Annalise Gonzales held a time of 2:16.86 minutes in the Women's 800m — a time putting her number 10 in the all-time Bruin record books — while
Elizabeth Warren finished with a time of 2:22.78.
Sam May finished with a time of 2.06.84 minutes in the Men's 800m.
In the Women's 1500m,
Ellie Rising put on a show, setting a school record and putting herself number five in all of Division III with her time of 4:26.11 to place 11th.
Sarah Pullen was next with a time of 4:51.22, while
Allie Wilber (4:59.12),
Hope Bridge (5:00.85) and
Jenessa Teachout (5:05.22) followed.Â
Isabelle Jones got a strong time of 1:01.45 minutes in the Women's 400m, and in the Women's 200m she received a time of 28.03 seconds. In the Men's 3000 Steeplechase,
Austin Gappa got a strong time of 9:08.04 with a strong placement of second.
Patrick Adkisson followed shortly after in third with a time of 9:16.31, and
Gavin Grass in fifth with 9:20.94 minutes. Finally,
Breanna Schmitt finished in the Women's 5000m in 17:20.10, while
Kendall McKibbon got a time of 17:59.26. Not far behind was
Abbie Goodwin with a solid time of 18:50.85.Â
Like the meet in McMinnville, Fox totaled two podiums — both coming in the steeplechaase in Gappa and Adkisson's times.
