5/23/2025 4:31:00 PM

GENEVA, Ohio -- After a hard-fought day two, the George Fox track and field team returned to the SPIRE Institute for day two of Nationals.

Ellie Rising, who qualified for the 1500m final the day prior, made sure to do the same in the 800m. The senior raced to a time of 2:10.22, finishing third in her heat and sixth overall to qualify for the Saturday final.

Elsewhere, the multi athletes ended their national appearances. Max Ashour ended as the high finisher of the three Bruin decathletes, placing 15th overall to earn a Second Team All-American nod. Ashour worked his way up the standings with a pair of ninth-place finishes in the discus and pole vault and a sixth-place mark in the javelin. Blake Smith ended his nationals decathlon run in 17th, with Thomas McMillan placing 19th.

In the heptathlon, Jenna Huntsman placed 19th overall, with an 18th-place mark in the long jump, her high water mark for the day. James King rounded out the competitors, failing to register a height in the high jump after three missed attempts.
