Rising Closes Career With Two All-American Awards

Bruins Wrap Up 2025 Track Season

5/24/2025 12:44:00 PM

GENEVA, Ohio -- The George Fox track and field season came to a close with two performances from senior Ellie Rising, who rounded out her GFU career with a pair of All-American finishes.

Top Performances
Rising competed in both the 800m and the 1500m for the Bruins, qualifying for the finals in each event with standout performances on both Thursday and Friday.

First up for the senior was the 1500m. Rising started strong, completing the first 700m in sixth place, but slowly slipped down the stretch to finish in 12th place overall. Still, her performance was 12th-best in the nation, good for a Second Team All-American honor.

Just over one hour later, Rising was back on the track to compete in the 800m. The only female athlete to participate in both the 800m and 1500m final, Rising fought hard, reaching as high as second before finishing ninth; the finish was enough for her a second Second Team All-American honor, moving her up to six career All-American honors in her career at George Fox.

What Comes Next
With the final day of track championships in the book, the Bruins exit the 2025 season with their eighth consecutive NWC Championship sweep, four All-Americans, and plenty to build on for 2026.

The meet marks the official end to the 2025-26 athletics season for George Fox, who will be back in action in the fall after a 2024-25 season that saw six NWC Championships and a Division III STUNT National Championship.
