HILLSBORO, Ore. -- The 2025 Northwest Conference women's lacrosse team has been announced, with eight Bruins landing a spot on the list.
The Bruins put on another historic year, finishing first in the conference with a perfect conference record once again. With the year came flashes of extraordinary plays and nifty moves to help the Bruins outscore their opponents by an average of 6.4 goals per game. The team's selfless play saw six players score double-digit goals in conference play, with another two picking up double-digit points.
Leading the way for the Bruins was Junior
Lana Davis. Davis led the team in both goals (30) and assists (14), landing her on the All-NWC first team for the second straight year. To add to her offensive prowess, Davis also led the team in draw controls (37), caused turnovers (14), and was third on the team in ground balls (16). She also played her way into the career 200-point club, and is on pace to demolish several career records next season.
Morgan Maxfield joins Davis as the only other Bruin to earn First-Team All-NWC honors. This is Maxfield's second time earning all-conference honors in her time at Fox after landing a spot on the Honorable Mention All-NWC team last season. Maxfield was the leading attacker for the Bruins, picking up 19 goals, 10 assists, and one game-winning goal.
While only two Bruins finished the season on the All-NWC first team, five earned Second-Team All-Conference honors. Leading the way is
Ava Bluhm, marking her third consecutive year as a second-teamer. Playing alongside Davis in the midfield, Bluhm also racked up the offensive and defensive numbers for the Bruins. She finished with 26 goals and 11 assists in conference play, including 21 draw controls and 15 ground balls to secure her spot on the All-NWC second team.
Rounding out the second team was a slate of all-star defenders for the Bruins.
Shae Katagi,
Gabriella Muzquiz,
Cipriana Flores, and
Myah Pack were all rewarded for their stellar defensive play.
Flores had an impact on both sides of the field, finishing with a team-high 18 ground balls while also recording four goals, six assists, and causing five turnovers. Katagi, after being named Defensive Player of the Week on April 21st, finished her season strong with 15 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. She was also one of four Bruins to record a defensive double-double, and finished her career at Fox on a high note. Muzquiz rounds out the defenders with 12 ground balls and seven caused turnovers. While the stats may not be top-end, her pressure and ability to thwart opponent attacks was top-tier.
Pack came into Fox with big shoes to fill, following in the footsteps of former first-teamer
Emma Webb. When all was said and done, Pack finished the year with a whopping .516 save percentage while racking up 49 saves. She had a crazy good 5.90 goals against average and picked up all eight wins in the net.
Freshman
Merrick Gibson was the lone Bruin on the Honorable Mention All-NWC team with her stellar offensive efficiency this year. She recorded 15 goals and 7 assists, all on a .714 shooting percentage. She was also dominant in non-conference play, finishing the year with 40 goals and 10 assists.
The Bruins will be back in action on Saturday, May 10th, as they face the No. 17 Stevens Ducks in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. The game is scheduled for 10:00 am PST on Saturday, with live stats and video linked on the Bruins' website.
