NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. -- The George Fox women's lacrosse team continues to impress, this time for its academic prowess. The team was named as an Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA), with five individual athletes landing on the Academic Honor Roll.
Earning a spot on the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll were seniors
Shae Katagi and
Morgan Maxfield, along with juniors
Lana Davis,
Naomi Rauch, and
Sasha Thayer. They joined 25 other student-athletes from across the Northwest Conference, with seven of the nine schools being represented. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be of junior standing or higher and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale).
The Bruins landed on the Academic Honor Squad after compiling a team GPA of 3.55 during the 2024-25 school year, matching that number with a 3.55 cumulative GPA during the spring semester. The IWLCA honors teams that maintain a 3.20 GPA and above throughout the current academic year. George Fox was one of seven NWC schools to be recognized, joining rivals Lewis & Clark College, Pacific University, Pacific Lutheran University, Whitman College, Whitworth University, and Willamette University.
