EUGENE, Ore. -- Under the bright lights of Hayward Field, several athletes of the George Fox track and field team competed in their first met post-graduation, facing off against several D-I opponents
Top Performances
Grace Tully had the standout performance of the day, setting a PR in the pole vault with an impressive mark of 12-06.75 —- 0.75 inches better than her previous mark. Tully's vault extended her school record and launched her from 21st to 16th in the nation.
Ryan Maier and
Cole Nicholas competed in the men's 100m, with Maier placing in seventh with a time of 11.12 and Nicholas in ninth with a time of 11.32. In the women's 100m hurdles,
Ayahna Bahati placed third with a mark of 14.53.
James King notched the top finish for Fox on the day, finishing second overall with his mark of 6-07.50.
Several throws — three men and one woman — made the trip down to Eugene, with
Darrin Campbell leading the way; Campbell threw a 195-10 to finish fourth, while Nicholas' 179-01 was good for seventh and
Joey Holloway's 176-01 placed eighth. For the women,
Ellie Corwin placed third with a throw of 132-10.
Victoria Azar finished seventh in the long jump, jumping 17-05.50 overall in her efforts.
What Comes Next
Several Bruins will head to Corvallis for the Pac-12 Open, while others will compete in the Portland Twilight, held at Lewis & Clark.
