Fox Wraps Up Indoor Season With Second Home Meet

NEWBERG, Ore. -- The George Fox track and field team stayed home for their second GFU Indoor meet of the season, locking in various PRs and marks in the afternoon.

Top Performances
In the Men's 60m, freshman Carson Tapia finished with a PR time of 7.05, coming in second place and setting a mark that is tied for fifth all-time. Meanwhile, for the Women's 60m, Jenna Huntsman placed fourth, retrieving a PR of 8.09 within the top five.

Then, for the Men's 60m Hurdles, Blake Smith and Micah Mumford came in the top seven (Smith in first place overall with a clean time of 8.49, and Mumford in sixth at 8.70).

For the Women's 60m Hurdles, Makaylah Johnson claimed the first place victory with a 9.10 time, and Savannah Johnstone came in sixth at 9.60 seconds.

For the field events, Dylan Brown placed third in the Men's High Jump as Micah Mumford came in fourth right behind him—both with a mark of 5-10.75 ft. Freshman Madison Wu had a beautiful mark of 5-01.00, coming in fifth place for the Women's High Jump. Then, in the Women's Long Jump, Lucy Bleeker came in sixth place, with a 16-03.75 ft mark. 

In the Women's Pole Vault, three Bruins came in top seven, three in a row—Kylie Morias was in fourth with a mark of 10-06.00, Anna Wilson had the same mark in fifth place, and Reagan Krantz came in sixth with a 10-00.00 ft mark.

In third place for the Men's Shot Put was Joshua Taylor with a mark of 44-07.00 ft, while Candice Mugo-Wainaina took the win in first place with a strong 38-11.50 ft mark — a mark that is number four all-time. Mugo-Wainaina also claimed fourth place in the Women's Weight Throw with a final mark of 43-03.00 ft.

What Comes Next
The Bruins will kick off the outdoor season in McMinnville, Ore. for the Linfield 10k in McMinnville, Ore. on Friday, March 6. The day is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm. One week after their meet in McMinnville, the Indoor National Championships will take place from March 13-14.
