McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- The George Fox track and field team kicked off the outdoor season with the distance team competing in the Linfield 10k, marking a few personal bests and making great steps of progress on the season.
Top Performances
In the Women's 10k,
Chloe Cook was the first Bruin to cross the finish line, coming in seventh place overall with an outstanding time of 37:53.58. Finishing one minute later was
Hope Bridge in ninth at 39:00.30.
Then,
Abbie Goodwin and
Reese Borchert were neck-and-neck coming in 12th and 13th overall—Goodwin had her personal best of the season with 39:41.37, and Borchert with 40:01.35.
For the Men's 10k race,
Ryan Lippert and
Caden Hildenbrand were a second apart—freshman Lippert placing 22nd with an astounding 31:09.38 time, while Hildenbrand made his personal best at 31:10.15.
Meanwhile, Kellin Ruiz came in 33rd, marking a 31:50.88 in the books, and
Jacob Shin crossed the finish line less than a minute later with 32:08.14—in 39th place for the day.

The Bruins will stay in McMinnville to compete again tomorrow on Saturday, March 7 for the Erik Andersen Icebreaker. The start of the day will begin at 9:00 am.
