McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- The George Fox Men's Golf team wrapped up the final day of the Wildcat Invite, finishing fifth as a team with a score of 611 (+25), improving two spots from their day one position.
Top Performances
Luke Powell put on the best performance for day two, rocketing up 22 spots thanks to a day two 70 (-2). He hit a birdie on the eighth, but the back nine was his real time to shine; Powell got another birde, and on the last hole an impressive eagle to put him two under par. Overall, Powell tied in 34th place overall with a score of 155 (+11).Â
Truman Fletcher came in right on par with a 72 (E). He showed two birdies and a bogey in the front nine, to land 36 (-1). Another birdie on the back landed him in 22th (tied) place, with an overall score of 151 (+7).Â
Eli Harrell and
Blake Johnston followed next, both tying for 34th place with Powell. Both Bruins hit a birdie apiece in each half to finish with a 155 (+11) overall..
Christian Chacon was next, tying for 44th place, 157 (+13). He hit all on par in his back nine, right on 35.Â
Ian Powers competed individually and placed highest for Fox, coming in tied for 13th place, 148 (+4). After starting on the back, his front nine was exceptional, claiming three birdies and no bogeys to shoot a 34 (-3) on the front and a 74 (+2) overall.Â
Otto Klein and
Ian MacArthur also competed as individuals. MacArthur finished 54th, 165 (+21), hitting two birdies. Klein landed in 57th, 166 (+22).Â
While the Bruins finished in fifth place overall with a 611 (+25), Whitman took first with 573 (-3), Linfield was next, 579 (+3), Willamette following, 584 (+8). Grady Brown of Willamette and Brody Landaker of Linfield tied in first place, with 140 (-4), with Brown finishing as medalist after a par on the first playoff hole.

The Bruins will head into their last competition weekend of the season for the Northwest Conference Championships on Sunday, April 19.
